At five, a house-shaped bunk bed might be the greatest thing that has ever happened to a bedroom.

At eleven?

Maybe not.

And that was exactly the thinking behind our Skyhouse Bunk Bed.

First, let them play

For a younger child, the house frame isn't really a frame at all.

It's a roof over their little house.

Add a blanket and it's a fort. Add fairy lights and it becomes somewhere magical. Tomorrow it might be a shop, a castle or a secret headquarters with very strict rules about who is allowed inside.

Childhood changes quickly, though.

One day they want everything magical. A few years later they want their room to feel simple and grown-up.

So we designed the Skyhouse to change too.

The upper house elements can be removed, leaving behind a much simpler Scandi bunk bed.

Same bed.

Completely different feeling.

We love designing this way because changing taste doesn't necessarily need to mean changing furniture.

The child grows. Their room changes. Their idea of what is “cool” definitely changes.

And the bed simply moves into its next chapter with them.
